All is well, just haven't been able to get to a cyber cafe for 4 days, there is a strike and absolutely everything is closed, including this place but I snug in the back door to write just a short note to let you know all is fine. I did go in the middle of the demonstration and took lots of pictures and it was pretty peaceful, but still a bit freaky to being that close to hundred of thousands demonstrators with sticks, they are still at it every day and I go to check it out. I hope it ends soon since there is nothing to do when everything is closed but very peaceful with no cars or motorbikes around, no constant honking which at times can get to you. So a stroll down the street now is just with pedestrian, people on bicycles and of course demonstrators. My time with the kids are unfortunately coming to an end they are so sweet still, every time I come back they all come running to the gate to let me in and they all say Namaste to me and ask how my day was so I will miss them dearly. My last day is Saturday and that day Denis is coming to join me so I am looking forward to that and I hope the strike is over by then otherwise he will have to walk from the airport.
The airport, hotels, hospitals and drugstores are the only things open. Meeting up with a friend soon so got to go Namaste Inger

Funds raised so far!
Up to now I have raised $ 5500 mostly from my Birthday Party, generous friends and family. It will be an ongoing process for me and I will keep you posted on my progress. I thank you all very much, I am very appreciative of your donations. 100% of the money raised goes to the protect. With my donation I have now raised $ 10 500 to Nepal. We have bought land to build the school on and have started that. I just hope and pray that it is still standing at this point April 2015.
My trip to Kathmandu, Nepal to work in an Orphanage for 2 months, hike the Himalayan Mountains, travel to Lhasa Tibet to see the Tibetan Monasteries trek to Base Camp and tour Delhi India, all in 3 month and 5 days.
MY REASON FOR THE TRIP
I have been thinking of something good to do for people in need, for somebody who is less fortunate than us Western creatures who live in total luxury. After reading an article about The Highlander Orphanage in Kathmandu, I picked that to be my project. I am going to raise money for the kids in an orphanage in Nepal. Now the challenge comes. HOW? ? First I am going to give them some of my time. I have decided to volunteer at the orphanage for 2 months to make it more real for me, to go out of my own comfort zone to see what life is really like there and not as a tourist. By doing that I hope others will contribute in different ways. My goal is to raise as much as possible to make a better life for kids who would live in total poverty if not for the help from others.

Nepal's Children!
60% of them are working, and twice as many girls as boys. A full time job is 10-14 hours a day, more than a 3 minute bathroom break is grounds for a beating. A child makes $1 - $2 a month, a coca cola cost 20 cents. 40,000 children must work to pay of their parent’s debt. 200,000 children work in slave like conditions. 200,000 Nepalese girls and young women have been sold to brothels in India. 60% of the boys and 88% of the girls are illiterate. 34% of all marriages are consummated of children under age 14....... 1.8 Million children under the age of 6 are malnourished. 17% of the country’s children die before their 5th birthday.
